S8300 Server

The Avaya S8300 Server with a Avaya G700, Avaya G450, Avaya G350 or Avaya G250 Media Gateway provides a flexible solution for growing companies to streamline voice and data operations over one networked infrastructure. It can be a standalone solution for a small business or a remote edge device for a larger enterprise network with 8 to 450 stations. In addition to acting as the main controller, the Avaya S8300 also can be used as a local survivable processor (LSP).

Tech Info

The Avaya S8300 Server resides inside a Avaya G700, Avaya G450, Avaya G350 or vG250 Media Gateway. It can be used as a standalone communication system or as a fully surivable remote gateway. The vS8300 can be the primary controller for up to 50 remote Avaya G250, Avaya G350, Avaya G450 and Avaya G700 Media Gateways.

As with the Avaya S8400, Avaya S8500 and Avaya S8700 series Servers, the Avaya S8300 supports the Linux operating system and it is powered by Avaya Communication Manager. It supports industry standard call control, quality of service, management functions, and IP, digital, and analog endpoints.

New with Release 5.0 is the ability to run both Communication Manager and SIP Enablement Services on the same Avaya S8300 Server. This provides a complete, all in one H.323, SIP and TDM solution for small to mid sized businesses and branch locations of larger businesses.

Avaya S8400 Server

The Avaya S8400 Server is a Linux-based server that provides Communication Manager processing functionality in stand alone, single port network, and telephony systems requiring up to 900 stations. The Avaya S8400 Media Server provides midsize enterprises with a cost-effective solution to support up to five media gateways and multiple locations. It also supports software for voice messaging, fax messaging, auto attendant and other applications

Circuit pack control within its port network

Cabinet maintenance

Tone-clocks

Emergency transfer switch functionality

Customer/external alarms

The included IA770 integrated messaging application supports the equivalent of 8 ports of voice messaging simultaneously, and up to 450 light duty users.

Avaya S8500 Server

Designed to support distributed IP for mid-sized and large businesses, this server offers powerful reliability features: It can be configured as a Local Survivable Processor (LSP), allowing it to act as a higher capacity LSP for larger remote sites of a distributed enterprise. It provides enterprise survivability, similar to ESS, allowing it to serve as a "regional" survivable server for multiple H.248 gateways. It Includes a RAM Disk, so it can operate even in the event of a disk failure.

Avaya S8700 Server

The Avaya S8700 Server line offers three different models, all of which offer duplicated processors for greater reliability. The processors can be separated up to ten kilometers (6.3 miles) to help ensure business continuity. The Avaya S8710 Media Server is based around an Intel processor, while the Avaya S8710 Media Server and the Avaya S8730 Server use the AMD Opteron and AMD Opteron Quad-Core processors, respectively.
