All of Avaya Index's cassettes can be `hot-plugged` and instantly replaced without affecting the system's other functions or taking the system down. If an extension line card needs to be removed, Avaya Index's Safe Check™ warns all extensions - via their LCD panels - enabling users to finish their calls without being cut off.

Voice Networking

Voice Networking is a modular communications solution that allows your organisation to effectively connect all your employees. The Avaya Index CT Server cassette includes an Ethernet connection, which allows all the applications on Voice Manager to be programmed on your PC network.

The Avaya Index Voice Compression Cassette enables efficient bandwidth management within both public and private voice networks. It utilises the D channel to attach DPNSS functionality to the compressed call, which allows feature transparency between sites whether the call is being made across a public or private voice network. The Avaya Voice Compression Cassette thus enables seven calls to be delivered across a single ISDN channel.
