With current trends to use higher speed processors and much more dense packing of components, the temperature of rack mounted equipment becomes crucial.
Standard and Pochin have two key solutions to reduce the thermal effect of equipment mounted in free standing enclosures. These include roof mounting fan units that take up to 19 inch rack mounting space and rack mounting fan units which can be used to supplement a roof mounting unit or be positioned to cool a particular "hot spot".
A universal cabinet roof mounting unit with 2 or 4 fans
Two depths of 1U fan tray either as a deep unit with 4 fans and able to take up to 6, or a shallow unit with 2 and 3 fan configurations

| Standard & Pochin Telescopic Shelf Ref: IV80-0514
Standard and Pochin offer a number of different types of shelves to suit different applications and fixing arrangements in 19 inch cabinets. Modem shelves fit only to the front mounting angles of a cabinet and are best suited to applications where the components to be placed on them are lightweight, such as modems or routers.
Telescopic shelves offer a much higher load capacity and are well suited to server applications where the product is heavy and it is better to move it clear of the cabinet before it is lifted. Vented shelves are fixed to the front and rear mounting angles in a cabinet and provide a medium weight load capacity.
To facilitate the positioning of cables in the plinth each side has a removable plate, which can be used as a cable gland or for access.
